Ginevra

This painting depicts the artist’s daughter with a sweet, embarrassed smile. The work is in three parts: the face is composed of six iron plates painted in acrylic; the torso, embossed on olive wood, represents the dress, and an iron silhouette hints at the body.
The patterning of the dress is rendered with carvings in the wood painted in white acrylic, while the upper and lower embroideries are detailed in chrome-plated iron. Around the girl’s neck shines a necklace.

Shaped arms play with light, casting a delicate shadow on the left side. In the background, shades of chlorophyll and bottle green, with cocoa nuances, create an enveloping atmosphere, accentuating the botanical appeal of the work. The color triangle of greens, brown tones and light details blends harmoniously and illuminates the canvas.

In “Ginevra,” as in many of his works, Roberto Miglietta interweaves the familiar past and present with the environmental tragedy of Salento. The combination of wood, iron and paint gives depth to the painting, telling a story of beauty ready to flourish again.
